Despite its brevity, the course provides personalized mentorship from IID’s experienced faculty, so you gain confidence in applying design concepts in real life. Learning Modules & Software Used

In this 12-week curriculum, each week focuses on essential interior design topics.
Key modules include:
Design Principles & Elements: Foundations of form, color theory, and composition for interiors.

  • Space Planning Basics: How to layout functional rooms and optimize small spaces.
  • Drawing & Drafting: Hand-sketching fundamentals and introduction to digital drafting.
  • Materials & Textiles: Overview of common interior materials, fabrics, and finishes.
  • Lighting & Color Schemes: Basics of lighting design and creating harmonious color palettes.
  • Mini Project: Redesign a room from start to finish as a capstone, applying all learned skills.
Throughout the course, you’ll also train on industry-standard software: AutoCAD for 2D drafting and SketchUp for 3D modeling. (Even in a short course, exposure to these tools ensures you’re tech-savvy for entry-level work.)

Career Outcomes

After 3 months, you’ll receive a Certificate in Interior Design from IID and a strong foundation to propel you forward. While this is an introductory course, graduates can confidently pursue roles such as: Interior Design Assistant or Intern: Work under senior designers at studios or firms, contributing to projects while you continue to learn on the job.
